Announcement of the New Name of the Qatar Swimming Association During the General Assembly Meeting

Today, Tuesday, March 31, 2026, the new name of the Qatar Swimming Association was officially announced as the “Qatar Aquatics Federation”, during the General Assembly meeting held in the presence of the Federation President, Mr. Mubarak bin Ali Al Nuaimi, members of the Board of Directors, representatives of Qatari clubs, and individual members.
This announcement comes as part of the Federation’s strategic direction to develop its sports system and strengthen its institutional presence, in line with the expansion across various aquatic sports. The new name reflects a modern and comprehensive vision that supports sports growth and enhances competitiveness at both regional and international levels, in alignment with the naming adopted by the International Federation for aquatic sports.
The General Assembly also reviewed and discussed several key agenda items, including future development plans, athlete preparation programs, and the achievements accomplished over the past year. In addition, discussions covered ways to enhance cooperation with local clubs to support and develop emerging talents.
Federation officials emphasized that this step represents a significant milestone in the development of aquatic sports in the State of Qatar, highlighting the importance of collaboration between the Federation and clubs to achieve the desired strategic objectives.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Mr. Mubarak bin Ali Al Nuaimi, President of the Qatar Aquatics Federation, expressed his sincere appreciation to the club representatives and General Assembly members for their active participation and positive engagement. He noted that such interaction reflects the true spirit of partnership, which is a fundamental pillar in advancing aquatic sports in Qatar.
He also commended the efforts of the clubs in supporting the Federation’s journey, praising their vital role in identifying and nurturing talent. He added that the coming phase will witness further joint efforts and continuous coordination, contributing to raising athletes’ performance levels and strengthening Qatar’s presence in various regional and international championships.
